All activities are regularly audited internally, but also by customers, certification bodies and local authorities. Tereos Starch & Sweeteners is able to guarantee the traceability from raw materials to just-in-time deliveries under international quality systems certifications in a global quality assurance approach. The company has put in place a Quality Policy and a Product Safety Policy which are implemented at all manufacturing sites. An elaborate Traceability system and a structured and harmonised approach to Incident prevention and Incident management solidify the Tereos Starch & Sweeteners's safety approach. 

All Tereos Starch & Sweeteners’s manufacturing sites are certified according to the latest versions of ISO 9001 and HACCP systems, either integrated into FSSC 22000 certification or combined with GMP standards for food safety. Standards also include specific certifications such as Halal / Kosher / Identity Preserved, depending on the production site.

As part of the reorganisation of our GMP feed certification system and the changed focus of our strategy, Tereos Starch & Sweeteners has decided to adopt EFISC as sole certification scheme. From 2015 onward, Tereos Starch & Sweeteners plants will comply with the EFISC feed standard, version 3. Mutual recognition between EFISC and GMP+, Ovocom, QS and FEMAS guarantees there will be no impact on customer certifications. 

For the production of its pharmaceutical excipients, Tereos Starch & Sweeteners has implemented an integrated quality management system following the IPEC Good Manufacturing Practices guidelines for pharmaceutical excipients. Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients manufactured fit the requirements of ICH Q7 Good Manufacturing Practices Guide. A EU GMP certificate (Good Manufacturing Pratice for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) for Glucose Monohydrate manufactured in Zaragoza, Spain (Syral Iberia SAU) is available.
