Launch of IMPROVE

The IMPROVE (Institut Mutualisé pour les PROtéines VEgétales) project was officially inaugurated on Thursday, September 12th, in Amiens. The first general meeting and board meeting of IMPROVE SAS took place in the afternoon.

IMPROVE concerns the creation of a dedicated excellence centre focused on extracting, processing and adding value to vegetable proteins. The day was brought to a close with a roundtable session organised by Tereos Starch & Sweeteners and the Picardie Region. Introduced by the regional administration, the session gathered more than 80 officials, scientists, and industrial representatives who came together to understand the project's goals. Anne Wagner, VP of Innovation & Quality for Tereos Starch & Sweeteners, and appointed President of IMPROVE, laid out the platform's challenges and future activities. Guided by a community of interests, this unique model for a public-private partnership brings together France's leading players from the agricultural processing and research fields. The platform, set up in Dury (Somme), will make it possible to ensure short research and industrialisation cycles. It will be led by key stakeholders present at the crossovers between the food, chemicals and energy sectors, which are committed to improving the French agrifood industry's competitiveness, while contributing to the dynamic development of the national economic fabric.
